WRITING PROMPTS

In second grade our goal is for kiddos to be able to independently write a 5 sentence paragraph. This should include a topic sentence, three details, and a closing sentence. We also look for correct conventions, including capitalization, punctuation, spacing, and spelling. Please encourage kids to sound out words they don't know how to spell.

We were just about to start dictionary skills, so if you are able, please feel free to introduce dictionaries at home for unknown words!
